Update: May 2018
Life is full of choices, and making choices is the only true freedom we have. Sometimes, however, life just happens without us having any say in the matter. It may not seem obvious, but we have a choice in these happenings as well… the choice to decide how we react! And oh boy, oh boy, oh boy has life come at me with some changes in 2017! And you know what!? I for one am freaking thrilled!
Let me give you a little back story to lead up to what’s happening now. I no longer remember exactly how I started off life. Sad? I don’t know, it doesn’t really bother me. What I do remember is a brief stint as a cross-state hauler of people between Miami to Tampa in the great state of Florida. You might think this was a boring thing to do day-in and day-out, but everyday there were new people (and new smells), so that kept it interesting. Then one day, these new things called airplanes started doing the same job, but much faster than I could, so that was the end of that! It’s cool though, I got to sit around for a while and just chill out, think, meditate, etc.
Eventually, along came a young fella and old man who had something new in mind for me. They were just some guys out to have a good time, and they needed something like me to help the good times roll (so to speak). I spent a couple of years with these guys, ferrying them around the state, mostly to beaches and what not. We got to know each other pretty well and they even did a couple of upgrades to my insides. Instead of a bunch of seats, they put in a nice wood floor and some couches. I kinda liked it, and it must have been comfy for them too, because them and their buddies would sometimes stay inside me all night long! We were having a ton of fun, and then, get this, they painted me white and blue! Pretty rad right!?
Just when I thought that I could be happy with these dudes forever, I overheard something a little scary and sad. Apparently, they could no longer justify keeping me around, so on the market I went. A few new drivers came through, some good and some bad (one backed me into a sign, gah!) I kept an open mind though, and then bam! This other young-looking dude (he says he’s not that young) shows up one day and next thing I know it’s 150 miles later and I’m on the other side of the state. How about that! You get to know someone in 150 miles and it turns out I like the guy, and he likes me! He says he has big plans for us and that he is gonna upgrade me to the biggest, baddest short bus around! And you know what? I believe him, because I write you this from the spa (Ford dealership), where I’ve spent the last week getting all tuned up, and boy does it feel great. My new driver, Nick is his name, didn’t say when he’d be back exactly, but did mention that we were going to the other side of the country when he does get back. Awesome. Till then, here’s to happy life happenings and making the choice to go with it!
P.S. My old driver took some photos of me before we parted, check ’em out below.
